Artist's Description
This Gouache painting from 1987 is one of two paintings looking at the Native American figure. It was inspired by documentary films I saw in the 80's of different Native American tribes and their attire and traditions. The fascination of the strong presence and mergence with nature made a lasting impression on me. Here I depicted a figure sitting on the ground cloaked in an earth-tone red blanket or clothing article. It is snowing and probably cold. Yet, this person is at peace and calmly observes his or her surroundings.
About David Euler

Painting and photography were always part of my being. it is time now to present and publish my art. Born in Germany, growing up in Israel, and living in the US exposed me to a variety of cultures and ides that are translated into a visual form. My first painting mentor was Gershon Knispel in Haifa, Israel, then Michael Irmer in Duesseldorf. I am interested in exploring new challenges.
