Artist's Description
A portrait of a mother worried about the integrity and safety of her family and home. The Golden textured background is a reference to the antique Greek and Russian Orthodox icons of religious themes. The family is a holy institution in the sense of the future of humanity as we know it. This mother is expressing her concern about the fragmentation, individualization, and estrangement of our society. Indeed, she is tired. It is an uphill battle to keep the household intact vis-à-vis the fast and furious changing society structures.
About David Euler
Painting and photography were always part of my being. it is time now to present and publish my art. Born in Germany, growing up in Israel, and living in the US exposed me to a variety of cultures and ides that are translated into a visual form. My first painting mentor was Gershon Knispel in Haifa, Israel, then Michael Irmer in Duesseldorf. I am interested in exploring new challenges.
