Artist's Description
Henri Matisse fascinated me with his ability to capture fruit in its essence. Not like a hyper realism photo-like oil painting, his still life was an expression of the life within. In this small, simple oil on canvas still life from 1985 I tried to find the same essence from the fruit I got from Aldi in Düsseldorf.
About David Euler
Painting and photography were always part of my being. it is time now to present and publish my art. Born in Germany, growing up in Israel, and living in the US exposed me to a variety of cultures and ides that are translated into a visual form. My first painting mentor was Gershon Knispel in Haifa, Israel, then Michael Irmer in Duesseldorf. I am interested in exploring new challenges.
